Student Welfare Activities
The college is known for all round development of the students’ personality through participation in various cultural activities so that they may be employed gainfully in their leisure hours. With this end in view, Talent Search Competition is organized in the beginning of every session. Students are encouraged to participate in Intra-college and Inter-college competitions and develop their latent capabilities. Conducting Quiz Contests, Debates, Inter-College Cultural Competitions and Youth Festivals are an annual feature with the college. Every year our talented students win a large number of Individual as well as Group Prizes.
The College created history during the session 2018-19 when our college team won Over-All Zonal Youth Festival Trophy for the third consecutive year.
Training and Placement Cell of D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur is a special cell which handles different training for students of our college.
- The Placement cell puts together and expands administrations towards collaborative placement activities.
- The cell conducts and manages various training exercises for the qualified understudies regarding Career planning, Personality Development, Industrial visits as well as Entrepreneurship Development.

FUNCTIONS
- To Work with Teaching Faculty, heads of department and organization to integrate Career planning along with regular academic curriculum . Guest Lectures by experts from various institutes.
- To Provide sufficient resources to facilitate career-planning process. To act as an interface among students, alumni and the various organisations. To create mindfulness in the students with respect to future career choices.

The college offers opportunities for training under the NCC. An NCC Orientation Programme is organized in the beginning of each session to introduce the students to the benefits of joining NCC and also regarding the opportunities available to them to join the Armed Forces through NCC.
Every year a large number of our students enroll themselves and manage to clear ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate exams. Our NCC Cadets participated enthusiastically in various social and humanitarian activities like Blood Donation, Tree Plantation, Swachch Bharat Abhiyan etc.

Students can opt for the National Service Scheme(NSS) at the time of admission to the institution.Fully realising Institution Social Responsibility, NSS unit of the college organizes lectures on topics as are socially relevant besides organizing Cleanliness Drive, Blood Donation Camps and Camps in Rural Areas. This enables them to realize the dignity of labour and emerge as socially responsible citizens.Every year volunteers celebrate National Youth Day and organize a Seminar against drug abuse.
Sports
The college has excellent facilities for football, hockey, cricket, kabaddi, boxing, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table-tennis and kho-kho. Facilities include lush green playgrounds, well-maintained courts and latest equipment which conform to the desired standards. A well maintained track is also available for athletics. In disciplines like swimming and water-polo where the college does not have its own infrastructure, alternative arrangements are made exclusively for the college students.
