About Department : Department of English offers an Elective course at the level of Graduation besides a compulsory course. Through the curriculum, the faculty tries to inculcate an interest in language and literature.The Department boasts of a language Lab that is used by Hindi and Punjabi departments as well . An Add-on-Course in Communicative English was started for the benefit of students in 2017. Tagore Literary Society organizes Debates, Quiz Contests, Paper Reading Contests and screening of movies shows on regular basis. Further the faculty trains the students with the aim of improving communication and inter-personal skills of the students and guiding them to face interviews in a better manner.

About Department : Teaching students at the graduation level, department of Hindi attempts at improving communication skills of the students ,while at the same time creating an interest in classic and modern literature. Students are also trained for participation in creative writing items during the Youth Festival. Hindi Sahitya Sabha organizes extension lectures to keep the students aware of the latest literary trends. Inter- college Declamation Contest, Paper- Reading Contest and poster-Making contests ,Hindi Diwas Celebration and the like are also organized by the Sabha.

About Department : Post- Graduate Department of Punjabi imparts teaching to the students at the graduation level in both compulsory and elective streams besides running the post- graduate course. Many students ,on passing out from the department ,pursue Research work and qualify UGC-NET. Punjabi Sahit Sabha encourages students to participate actively in competitions like Debates, Paper Reading Contest and Creative Writing Competitions.

About Department : Sanskrit is taught as an elective subject at the graduation level. Students are trained in the intricacies of the language and introduced to various literary master pieces as well. They are also taken to the Indological center at VVRI Sadhu Ashram, Hoshiarpur for visits to the museum.
